Kareena Endorses Pakistani Cloth House, Firdous

The mega, hot, sexy and well-in-demand actress of Bollywood Kareena Kapoor, who every brand wants to have on board as the brand ambassador, is one of those Hindi cinema stars whose star power is not restricted only to India but also has transcended across the borders. Kareena is now an international star having a strapping fame and status in the world with huge fan following in every corner of the world.

She has recently been signed to be the brand ambassador of a big Pakistani cloth collection, Firdous. She has done a photo shoot for the brand and is now being seen on every road in Pakistan.

The billboards, featuring the gorgeous and curvaceous Kareena Kapoor, have been placed on all the busy roads in Lahore, Karachi and all other cities of Pakistan. The actress, wearing the vibrantly colored, cool and bright prints of lawn, is looking very gorgeous flashing her usual sweet smile.

Her modeling for Firdous has left behind the top models of Pakistan like Vaneeza and Iman Ali since her billboards and Firdous’s catalogue has grabbed everyone’s attention. Kareena Kapoor has done this photo shoot in Dubai and has been paid a whopping Rs.3 crores to do modeling for the brand.

Apart from Kareena, many top Bollywood celebs like Bipasha Basu (Damas Diamonds), Priyanka Chopra (Nokia) and a few others have also been seen in top brands’ ads of Pakistan on television and billboards. The trend indicates that soon the Bollywood bandwagon would be capturing Pakistan advertising market, since Bollywood stars are adored and loved by the people of Pakistan. The advertisers and big brands know this well.

Aishwarya Rai’s First Full Fledged Comedy

Aishwarya Rai has three very different films coming up this year, but director Vipul Shah says his film “Action Replay” will bring to the audiences her first full-fledged comedy. “Of course comedy, which is the hardest genre to do, is not taken seriously at the awards. But in my film, Aishwarya has done comedy for the first time.

She may have attempted it here and there earlier. But this is her first full-fledged comedy role. But she’s welcome to get the awards for her other two releases…I don’t mind,” Shah told IANS.

Mani Ratnam’s “Raavan” and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s “Guzaarish” are the other two films she will be doing this year. While Bhansali’s “Guzaarish” is set to release.

In November, “Raavan” and “Action Replay”, which also stars Akshay Kumar, are due to hit the theatres in quick succession within a month. While “Raavan” is slated for a June 18 release, Shah is all set to release his film in July, arguing that the two films are completely different in mood, theme and treatment. But the filmmaker had a bitter experience last year when his Salman Khan-starrer “London Dreams” released a month after the actor’s home production “Main Aur Mrs.Khanna”. Now apparently Shah plans to sit down with Mani Ratnam and figure out a release strategy whereby neither film suffers.

He said: “‘Raavan’ and ‘Action Replay’ are very different films. And I thought I’d release (mine) in July. But I think I’ll now discuss it with Aishwarya and Mani Ratnam. We need to work as one big family in this industry. “Besides, I still have a song to shoot whereas ‘Raavan’ is complete.

I’ve yet to figure out when I can shoot it because both Aishwarya and Akshay are constantly travelling. We were supposed to shoot it earlier this year in the snow in Manali. Now we may go higher up at the Rohtang Pass or change the location for the song completely,” the director added.

There is no doubt that Hrithik Roshan and Barbara Mori are now best of friends (thanks to the movie Kites), but initially the Mexican damsel was hesitant to work with our Duggu.

According to the latest buzz, when she was approached for ‘Kites’, Barbara was unsure of pairing up with him. But why? Actually the lassie wasn’t aware of Hrithik’s work.

In Bollywood and she visited Youtube to see some of Hrithik’s film scenes and videos. And what she saw didn’t impress her, so she conveyed her apprehension to the Roshans.

Then Hrithik took the initiative to reach out to the actress and sent her DVDs of three films, Lakshya, Koi Mil Gaya and Dhoom 2. And after that there was no looking back for Barbara. All her doubts were put to rest.

She came to know that Hrithik was no greenhorn but an accomplished actor. So the first impression definitely wasn’t the last here.

Sushmita Sen Dating Wasim Akram?

There has been a rumor spree in Bollywood these days. No sooner we learnt that Sushmita Sen and Vivek Oberoi have become friends again than came the report that she is dating Pak cricketer Wasim .

Though Viveik had been sharing cold vibes for long their newfound friendship has led everyone to believe that there might be more than just friendship between the two.

You may recall that Sush and Vivek didn’t talk to each other after Vivek dated Aishwarya Rai. The two took special care to avoid each other at social functions and didn’t even exchange pleasantries for quite some time. Sources said the thaw started only recently when they walked the ramp together for a cancer awareness show. And of late, they have been interacting a lot. The discomfort between them is a thing of the past.

In fact, they have become good friends now. The former Miss Universe is reportedly dating Pakistan cricket legend Wasim Akram now. It is said that it began ever since they hosted a reality show together on television around two years ago.

At that time Akram’s marriage to Huma was going strong. But after her untimely demise in October 2009, the rumors of a romance between Sushmita and Wasim kept getting stronger, especially in the last couple of months.

The rumors aren’t without a base. Wasim and Sushmita were spotted together at a suburban nightspot and spending a wonderful evening. Besides, this is the first time that they have made a public statement about their togetherness.

Judging by the public display of affection, the relationship seems official now. Incidentally, a couple of Bollywood celebrities including Shekhar Suman and Aseem Merchant were also present when Wasim and Sushmita made their entry at the suburban nightspot. This lends support to the rumor.

Sonam Kapoor To Join Kollywood?

She made her debut with the movie Saawariya opposite Ranbir Kapoor. Her father Anil Kapoor is still one of the longest surviving actor in the Bollywood industry. Still the proud daughter of the even proud father came and was fixed in the industry with own ability.

She is none other than the beautiful Sonam Kapoor.She did two films Saawariya and Delhi 6 and has two movies in post production for the year 2010.

The latest buzz about the actress is that Sonam may play the lead role in a Tamil film titled Karuppampatti opposite Ajmal.

The Anjathey fame. Another highlight of the film is that it will have Ajmal playing dual roles for the first time in his career spanning just over a couple of years.

Sonam has not yet responded to its debutante director Prabhuraja Chozhan. The first schedule of the shooting is to start rolling from May in Bangalore followed by shooting in Tamil Nadu. Tamil Padam music director Kannan is to score tunes for this flick too. Hope that Sonam accept the offer and become successful in Kollywood too.
