Actress Raima Sen, known for experimental and offbeat roles in “Chokher Bali” and “Antar Mahal”, says she now wants to show her glamorous avatar on the big screen.

“Yes, why not. I’m all for glamour and I would love to portray a glamorous character, ” Raima, who showcased her talents in both Hindi as well as regional movies, told in an interview.

She made her debut with “Godmother” in 1999, followed by Rituparno Ghosh’s “Chokher Bali” and Pradeep Sarkar’s “Parineeta”. She also featured in “Antar Mahal” in Bengali and “The Bong Connection”. But the 30-year-old denies on being typecast to a specific genre.

“No it’s not a conscious decision at all. Like I said, I end up choosing the best of what I get. So if a great commercial movie comes my way, I’ll grab it. I want to work with different directors and experiment with different, interesting roles – ranging from out and out commercial to offbeat.”

Raima thinks she has been fortunate enough with her line-up of film when she looks back and feels lucky at her achievements.

“I’ve learnt a lot, experiences that cannot be measured in words and sentences and feelings that cannot be captured in a gist. But overall it’s been a fun experience. I cherish all the movies I’ve done so far and I’ve been lucky to have many opportunities to work with great co-stars and directors.”

In her future projects, she revealed, she will be sharing screen space with sister Riya Sen in “Nauka Dubi” directed by Rituparno Ghosh and is slated for May-June release.

She also has Vinay Shukla’s “Mirch” starring Boman Irani, Shreyas Talpade, Konkona Sen Sharma and Shahana Goswami.

Sources say, “Celina is very excited for her next two releases and she simply loves doing comedy. Although she has done comedy before, these two movies are very different and people will see Celina in a very different look.”

I have no apprehensions of wearing it at all.” Talking about her exit from TV, she explains, “I wasn’t happy and I wasn’t growing on TV so I decided to leave it. The money maybe good, but I never ran after that.

I was the only fool who left TV when I had just started making money.” Talking about her love for films, Neeru adds, “I have been in love with films for as long as I remember. I practically used to watch three films everyday. I hardly went out and played and didn’t have many friends. Bollywood actress Bipasha Basu has now taken up the job of a tutor and the lucky student is her south co-star Rana Daggubati.

No this not any role that she is playing in any of her forthcoming movie but on the sets of Rohan Sippy’s Dum Maro Dum she was found helping Rana with his Hindi who is poor in the language.

According to a source from the sets, “As he is not well-versed with the language, the actress is taking all the hard work to have him good control over the language, which will only help to mouth his dialogues well. Though Bipasha herself is not that easy with the language but trying her bit to help Rana Daggubati.” The actress also not seriously adds that now if he asks her any word in Hindi she’ll charge a fee but who cares about the fees when it’s learning practice from Bipasha Basu as a teacher.

Up, close with IPL The girl is candid enough to admit that her “first brush with a live cricket match happened two years ago in Mumbai,” and she is quite excited about “watching an IPL match on screen with the audiences.” But, in this season of ‘cricket-o-mania’, when almost all the actresses are riding the IPL bandwagon, why isn’t she involved more actively with it?

“Actresses like Preity Zinta and Shilpa Shetty aren’t in the rat race now because they have already earned their space under the sun. Deepika Padukone is involved as a brand ambassador, so that’s her call. But, I’m in the thick of it and can’t afford to spend that kind of time with IPL,” says she. ‘I’m meeting Husain saab!’

The chirpy girl becomes silent the moment you ask her if she has spoken to her ardent admirer MF Husain. After a long silence filled with sadness, she says, “Yes I did speak to him before he became the citizen of Qatar, and I’m disheartened by the fact that he will never come back to India again.”

But, she perks up and says, “I’m planning to go to Dubai at the end of this month and I will certainly meet Husain saab.” And what’s the gift that she’s planning to take for him? With a laugh she says, “He already has the best of cars and the most enviable work schedule, so I will just take sweets from India for him.”

Priyanka’s fashion faux pas And what does she have to say about Priyanka Chopra making the biggest fashion gaffe sometime back by repeating the short gold dress, which Amrita had earlier worn at one of the reality shows on television? The lady brushes off the incident, saying, “It was such a petty and miniscule thing and it can happen to anyone. But, I was embarrassed when some of the reports quoted my so-called statement about that incident when I had not even said a word.”

‘Swayamvar? No way!’ The actress, who had floored the telly buffs with her charming appearance and comments on a reality show on marraige, says, “I will never go for a swayamvar even for a million bucks! I never want to be put in a situation where I get to choose my groom from 10 guys selected by someone else. I would rather have the liberty to choose my own partner.”

‘Not giving any bhav!’ A reality show wedding may not exist in her dictionary, but she admits that there are admirers aplenty. “Yes, there are lots of guys filmi and non-filmi trying to woo me. But, I’m not giving them any bhav,” she confesses rather shyly. And when will she start thinking in this direction? “You never know when love catches you in that off-guard moment,” says she and signs off.
