We thought Vidya Balan’s favourite accessories were her signature style jhumkas, the chunky beaded neck pieces, and even the rudraksha she so stylishly flaunts.

But wait… there is a dark side to this Southern beauty, too. Yeah, her favourite accessory is sunglasses – of all shapes, sizes and super-stylish brands. The lady can resist shopping clothes, shoes, bags and even her cool kurtas and designer saris, but the minute she spots dark glasses, she turns into a “shades shopaholic”.

Recently, while shooting in Delhi she surprised her staff with the way she went on a shade shopping spree. It was rather a shock than surprise seeing someone going mad over shades. However i am yet to see Vidya Balan in shades in some movie. Can’t remember her wearing shades in any. If you know one then do tell me.

Anyways, i think our lovely Vidya Balan is forgetting something. We all aren’t as excited as Vidya for her wide-range of sexy shades. Probably the simplest reason is that we won’t be able to get a closer look at those lovely, deep, brown eyes? What do you all think? Aren’t her eyes so very beautiful?

Bollywood actress Vidya Balan, parliamentarian Priya Dutt and boxer Mary Kom were among those who were honoured with the ‘Tejaswini’ award for young women achievers here today.

The awards, an initiative of the Young FICCI Ladies Organisation, honours women for their achievements in various fields, from social activism to entrepreneurship.

“I am humbled and feel dwarfed standing on this stage receiving the award alongside the likes of Priya Dutt and Sunita Krishnan (activist) whose contribution is enormous in comparison to me,” said the 31-year-old actress who won this year’s Filmfare Award in the Best Actress category for her role as a single mother in ‘Paa’.

Dutt who joined politics after the death of her father Sunil Dutt, accepted the award saying that she followed the path of humility preached by Mother Teresa.

Bollywood actress Vidya Balan, who recently won the Filmfare Best Actress award for her performance in Paa as Amitabh Bachchan’s mother, is in for a change. She has been approached to play the role of South Indian sex bomb Silk Smitha.

The news is doing the rounds that Ekta Kapoor is making a biopic on Silk Smitha titled The Dirty Picture. The film will focus on the tragic last days of the actress, who entertained the people with her sexy moves.

It is reported that Vidya has been approached to play Smitha in the film. Ekta Kapoor said that she waited for almost two years for writer Rajat Arora to complete the script of the film. It is about women empowerment and dark side of stardom and Milan Luthria is directing it.

Well certainly to watch out for. Will update more on the movie and casting when we get some news regarding the same.
