Buddha Mar Gaya Is Just A Sex Comedy

August 24, 2007

buddha-mar-gaya-rakhi-sawant.jpgThe verdict on Rahul Rawail’s black comedy Buddha Mar Gaya released this week is rather discouraging.

“I’m not making any apologies about the raunchy mood of the film, ” Rahul says a day after the film’s release. “It was meant to be a sex comedy, and it is exactly that.

Why are we so squeamish about sexual innuendoes in our films when we have no objection to sex jokes in the American Pie movies? I enjoy watching American Pie and wanted to do something similar in Hindi. And that’s exactly what I’ve done.”

A lot of people are offended by the risqué and ribald quality of the gags, including a bi-sexual godman (played by Om Puri) who has sex with a dead tycoon’s sister and his son.

Rahul ripostes quickly, “Let me tell you, every character in Buddha Mar Gaya is based on real people. Don’t let me open my mouth about who’s who and what goes in these super-rich families.

I wanted to do a savage satire on the hypocrisies of the affluent. And I think I’ve done that. If people are offended by the blunt quality of the humour, let me remind them that this is an adult sex -comedy passed by the censors with an ‘A’ certificate.

I’m quite satisfied with what I set out to do, and with my cast. By all means critics are free to dislike the film. But when some reviewers have criticized my actors I totally disagree with them.

My actors have gone completely with the requirements of the script.”

Buddha Mar Gaya is now behind Rahul. He’s now planning two hardhitting films which would take him back to the gritty action-genre of Arjun and Dacait.

“The first script will be a an indigenous rendering of Sidnely Lumet’s 12 Angry Men about a jury trying five encounter cops. The second film will be set in the Gujarat riots. I want to show that communal riots are planned events, like any wedding or funeral. I’m in the process of scripting these two films.”

So Rahul Rawail will be back in form?

“Like I said Buddha Mar Gaya is as much part of my creativity as the films of mine that you like, ” says Rahul.

Total Changeover For Rakhi Sawant

July 26, 2007

rakhi-sawant.jpgRakhi Sawant seems to have opted for an image change. In Rahul Rawail’s ensemble comedy ‘Buddha Mar Gaya’, she has been cast in a role that requires no oomph, only chutzpah.

‘I was hunting for a girl to play this zany, liberated, frank and fearless girl called Kim in my comedy. No one seemed to fit the bill… until I saw Rakhi on reality show ‘Bigg Boss’. I loved her spirit and honesty in the show. I immediately decided to cast her,’ Rawail said.

Rakhi, who will join the ensemble cast comprising Om Puri, Paresh Rawal, Anupam Kher (who plays a corpse) and Mobhano Modi-Kotwal, had no inhibitions about doing the film.

‘Rakhi has no item songs and no striptease element in ‘Buddha Mar Gaya’. I’m glad I found her to play the role. I can’t think of anyone better,’ said Rawail.

Rakhi Sawant’s Silicon Wonders

July 24, 2007

rakhi-sawant1.jpgRakhi Sawant’s exaggerated physical assets have often raised a question: Is she all natural?

Rakhi’s bust line today is much bigger than what it was a few years back. Many obvious guesses have been made in this regard, but Rakhi never came clean on the issue. But now, she has made a sensational revelation.

In an interview to a news daily, Rakhi has shown remarkable frankness in accepting that she has got breast implants to enhance her beauty and sex appeal. Rakhi told the paper that she got the implants one and a half years back by a specialist doctor in Dubai. Rakhi revealed that before the operation she was quite flat on top. Previously she was 32. Now she is 36.

However, the busty actress added that she would remove the implants for an upcoming dance show and get them back after six months. Rakhi says it is not a big deal to get silicone enhancement as, according to her, many actresses in Bollywood have done it.

Rakhi Sawant Loves To Wear Hot Dresses Only

February 24, 2007

rakhi-sawant-hot.jpgWhen Rakhi Sawant and boyfriend Abhishek recently shot for zoom TV’s show Let’s Talk, all those present were quite amused at the girl’s attention to detail. In fact, the actress insisted on changing before the shoot because she felt she did not look ‘hot’ enough in what she was wearing earlier. What’s more, she even bullied Abhishek into changing his shirt three times before she Okayed the outfit.

And if you think Abhishek is miffed with her, think again. The guy has admitted to actually proposing to her nearly 25 times before Rakhi Sawant said yes.

Seems like the love-birds are surely made for each other. ;)

Mika And Rakhi Sawant Can Never Be Good Friends

October 24, 2006

rakhi_mika_coolbolly.jpgMika and Rakhi Sawant are at loggerheads again… this time over a song which Meet Brothers and Mika have composed to reminisce latter’s infamous kissing escapades.

Sawant’s arch enemy Krazy Kat aka Nandini Jumani has been chosen to play Rakhi. The animosity between the two item girls is well known and their war had reached a point where Nandini had filed a police complaint against Rakhi Sawant.

Confirming the news Nandini says, “I am doing the video and we will be shooting the video on October 5. The concept revolves around the Meet Brothers asking Mika why he kissed the girl, and he answers in a humorous vein.”

Reacting to entire controversies she says, “It is an utter shame! I appeal to music companies not to take his album. If anyone does, I will not work with that company.”

But didn’t they patch up after Mika apologized to her on a TV show?

“The show did what the judiciary and the police could not do. He apologised to me on the sets of ‘Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai’. Finally, I feel good that he did say sorry. But I didn’t patch up with him.. Mika can never be my friend,” she fumes.

Lol! There goes our chance to see another kissing vedio between the two. Pray and hope they be good friends again ;)
