Hrithik Roshan On Small Screen

June 1, 2008

After actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Govinda and Salman Khan, it is now Bollywood heartthrob Hrithik Roshan’s turn to join the reality show bandwagon.

Hrithik has been named the goodwill ambassador of NDTV Imagine’s new musical reality show ‘Junoon - Kuch Kar Dikhaane Ka’ scheduled to start June 6.

‘I am very pleased to be associated with this show. I can identify with the participants and their desire to achieve success. I can relate to their positive and exuberant spirit because I believe I have a similar enthusiasm - be it for my work or my personal life,’ the Bollywood star said.

The actor would neither be hosting, judging or performing on the show. Hrithik would instead be a support system for the contending participants and teams on the show.

Commenting on the association, Shailja Kejriwal, executive vice president of NDTV Imagine, said: ‘Hrithik epitomises the passion, which is present in all the talented artists that are part of the show.’

The show, being hosted by Annu Kapoor of ‘Antakshari’ fame would have three teams - folk, sufi and filmy - contesting to become the country’s most popular genre of music.

The teams, each having six contestants, would be mentored by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan (sufi), Ila Arun (folk) and Anand Raj Anand (filmy).

It’s Official. Krrish Is Coming Back

December 25, 2006

krrish.jpgHere is a new twist in the Krrish tale. The news is that papa Roshan will be making a third part of his super-hero series in the second-half of 2007 but this time junior wants to play the villain instead of the superhero.

“I wish I could play the villain in Krrish 3. I’m really excited about the villain’s role, so much so that I feel like giving up the super-hero’s mantle to play the villain,” says Hrithik.

“But won’t that make it a triple role, because I’ll already be playing the father, son and the villain,” he jokes.

May be Rakesh Roshan would have to throw in some angle of human cloning in the film’s plot and produce an identical clone of Krrish to play the villain in the movie to fulfill Hrithik’s wish.

The dates for the third part of the adventures of Rohit/ Krissh are now being worked out.

Hrithik would also love to be seen in the third series of Dhoom as he feels the film can only get bigger and better. Hrithik says “The point is to find new challenges. I only want to do make-or-break films and Krrish 3 falls into that category.”

Hrithik is also extremely excited about his epic film Jodha Akbar and says “It takes me to a place where I’ve never traveled, not even in my imagination. The journey has already become very fascinating for me.”

Thande Ka Tadka For Hrithik Roshan And Gang

November 9, 2006

dhoom2.jpgOkay, Once again the topics is Coca-Cola, Bollywood and Ads.

It happened in Rang De Basanti and it’s going to happen with Dhoom II as well. Extending its successful brand promotion exercise achieved through Rang De Basanti, Coca Cola is planning a repeat of the same with Hrithik Roshan starrer Dhoom II, scheduled to be released later this month.

Company sources said, Hrithik will feature in Coke’s new advertisement in his latest Dhoom II avtaar and the company plans a 360 degree promotion exercise.

The ad shot in Mumbai has been directed by none other than the director of Dhoom II Sanjay Gadhvi utilising elements involved in the same movie — well, that’s something really rare in Bollywood.

Apart from depicting Hrithik in his Dhoom II looks, the advertisement will also have exclusive visuals from the movie, the sources said. Well, why don’t you show us the complete movie?

Guys, you all know this is not the first time such a thing happened. The company had been adopting a strategic brand promotion exercise through Bollywood and the last being Aamir Khan blockbusters Rang De Basanti.  But you do know where it started from, Don’t you?  Well as far as i remember, i first saw such  endorsement attempt with Aishwarya and Akshaye Khanna in Taal. Followed by many… Anyways, good luck to Coca Cola with the advertisement. Afterall, it would be after a long time that we would be seeing a good ad instead of the normal  and latest controversial ads where in they take you to their  manufacturing plants. Time for a change and well appreciated.

Is Hrithik Roshan The Real King Of Bollywood

October 28, 2006

hrithik_roshan_coolbolly.jpgImagine, a multi crore deal. Somewhere to the amount of 35 crores. Freedom to chose the nature of roles in the film. Freedom to chose the director, the cast, the costars, the movie script, etc, etc, etc. Boy, isn’t that a kingly TOO MUCH!!!

The entire film industry is staggered by the weight of Hrithik’ Roshan’s multi-crore three-film deal with Adlabs.

But there is more to boggle Bollywood’s collective mind. According to a highly placed source Hrithik has been given a carte- blanche by Adlabs.

Says the source, “Not only has Hrithik been signed for his an unheard-of amount by Adlabs he also has the freedom to pick and choose the nature and genre of the projects.

The superstar is free to choose the director of his own choice, as well as the script, co-star and the rest of the unit and crew for each set-up. In short Hrithik is in complete creative control of what he chooses to do, with whom.”

Though the Krissh star isn’t allowed to talk about the deal or what kind of films he would like to do with Adlabs, apparently he’s looking at the new breed of directors who have come in during the last two years.

In the meanwhile Rakesh Roshan has finally zeroed in on a story idea for his next super-hero film with Hrithik. This film is expected to start sometime towards the end of 2007. At the moment Hrithik is all set to leave for Jaipur to start shooting for Ashutosh Gowariker’s Jodha-Akbar. Once that’s out of the way he starts work on Zoya Akhtar’s film. So when would he be able to do the three films for Adlabs?

“Oh, that’s no problem. The deal stretches into three years. So Hrithik can spread out the films as and how he likes,”says the source.

In the meanwhile Bollywood’s highest paid actor was busy on Wednesday night bringing in his wife Suzanne’s birthday on Thursday. “I’ll speak about all this at the right time.”

Great going Hrithik. Simply great!!!

Hritikh Roshan Worth 35 Crore Per Movie?

October 27, 2006

hritikh_roshan_coolbolly.jpgIt’s the high paying day for the Bollywood Stars. Seems like their Diwali went very well and prosperous for them.

It isn’t official as yet, but Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan has gone beyond any actor’s pricing after signing a deal with Adlabs at a reported price of a whopping Rs.350 million (Rs 35 crores).

Manmohan Shetty’s company Adlabs Film Ltd. has apparently signed the “Krrish” star for a three-film deal. While Hrithik’s dad Rakesh Roshan says “negotiations are on”, other reliable sources say the deal has been signed, sealed and delivered.

Hrithik’s price? A staggering Rs.350 million. This makes him the highest-paid star in Bollywood, outpricing every other actor, including Aamir Khan, who was reportedly paid Rs.70 million for “Rang De Basanti”.

Hrithik’s reported price would change the entire pricing system in Bollywood, spiralling star fees beyond control.

A top filmmaker, who chooses to be anonymous until Hrithik’s price is made official, is aghast.

He said: “If true, this is a very unhealthy development. Hrithik is no doubt a fabulous hard-working actor. But star prices have constantly been the bane of Bollywood. Often more than 65 percent of the budget for a film goes to the stars.

“Why, even a newcomer like Shiney Ahuja charges Rs.1 crore (Rs.10 million). The ladies get far less. But a two-film old Kangana Ranaut asks for and gets approximately Rs.30 lakh (Rs.3 million). Now god knows how medium-budget filmmakers will manage the monies.”

There’s no doubt the three-film deal that Hrithik has clinched with Adlabs will dramatically revise the pricing system in Bollywood.

Here You Go Again. Krrish 2 With Vidya Balan

October 23, 2006

vidya_balan_krrish.jpgVidya Balan is becoming a much sought after star. It is now being reported that Rakesh Roshan’s Filmlkraft has signed her up for a role in Krrish 2. Krrish 2, announced in early September this year, will feature Hrithik Roshan in a double role, as the super hero and the super villain! Reports add that Roshan is leaving no stone unturned to make the third part bigger and better than the previous two and will again rope in foreign expertise for dare-devil stunts. If things go as planned then Vidya will be taking over from Preity Zinta ( Koi Mil Gaya ) and Priyanka Chopra (’Krrish’). The film is expected to go on the floors towards the end of 2007.

The Stars

Aishwarya Rai as Sunehri aishwaryarai_dhoom2.jpg

Sunehri, the “golden girl” treats every opportunity as a golden chance. She stays in the suburbs of Mumbai, but dreams big. She dreams of Amsterdam, of Australia… even America.

Spunky, spontaneous and sexy, Sunehri lives life one day at a time. The danger or repercussion of anything never occurs to her sharp yet innocent mind. And that is probably because nothing really bad has ever happened to her. But the most significant event that does occur is when Aryan comes into her life.

From that moment her life takes a new turn; actually a couple of turns. The resulting ’spin’ takes her on a ride she won’t forget in a hurry.

Abhishek Bachchan as Jai Dixit abhishekbachchan_dhoom2.jpg

In a world ridden with crime and criminals, the need of the hour is a law enforcement officer who can bring things to order. A tough yet sharp Super Cop.

ACP Jai Dixit is all this and more. A Super Cop with a mission… to put an end to crime. As always he believes that it is his job to eliminate crime, not the criminal. A no-nonsense police officer, he fights his battle against all odds and leads from the front.

His newest assignment - Mr. “A” - an international thief. How do you catch a thief who leaves behind no clues… who no one has ever seen.

Jai Dixit has a plan. He rises up to the challenge and is soon on the trail of the Master Thief.

But is it that he has met his match this time?

Hritikh Roshan as Aryanhritikhroshan_dhoom2.jpg

He works alone!

He trusts no one!

No one has seen him!

He pulls off the most daring and impossible heists. He comes out of nowhere and disappears without a trace. Police all around the world are baffled. His methods are innovative and modern. His planning, flawless.

He’s cool, he’s hot. He’s smooth yet tough. With looks that could make any woman go weak in the knees, there is finesse in everything he does. A connoisseur, he has style and a fine taste for all the things in life; be it food, wine or clothes.

As Jai Dixit says at one point… He’s the perfect thief!

He is Aryan. He is the elusive Mr. “A”!

But it is said that all criminals make at least one mistake.

Does Aryan slip up? Does he make that one fatal error?

Bipasha Basu as Shonali Bose bipashabasu_dhoom2.jpg

She is attractive, intelligent, vivacious, honest, sexy, hardworking, beautiful and an awesome dancer.

All these qualities not being any kind of pre-requisite, she is a police officer. ACP Shonali Bose is a cop and a damn good one.

Like her college mate Jai Dixit, she too works in great detail to get into the mind of the criminal. And that’s what she has done for the last two years. She is an expert on Mr. “A”.

Having won many medals for being the best sharpshooter in the force, it can be said that she never misses her target. The only difference between her and Jai is that she wouldn’t think twice before shooting down a criminal.

Nothing personal… it’s just what she believes - one criminal dead is one criminal less!

Uday Chopra as Ali udaychopra_dhoom2.jpg

His “Mummy” is definitely watching over him as his guardian angel. But Ali still doesn’t take his life too seriously.

Although, he is now a police officer and Jai Dixit’s partner, the equation between them is still the same. He still loves riding his bike. He still falls in love with every single woman he meets! And he still gets regularly reprimanded by Jai Dixit.

He still has his yellow bike and still feels very much at home in Jai’s house. He still believes that life is simple and that it is we who complicate it.

He still has a big heart and a smile that is even bigger.

And it is still true that he and Jai make a great team. He is fiercely loyal to Jai and if push comes to shove, he will go to any extent to fight for him.

And he’s still funny… actually… funnier!

So What’s The Story Of Dhoom - 2 dhoom2_themovie.jpg

The world’s oldest desert, the Namib…

A solitary railway line…

A royal family on a royal journey…

From the sky, like lightning… a FLASH!

The centuries old Royal Crown is stolen!

BACK IN ACTION… DHOOM:2 reinvents the action comedy genre and propels it into the 21st century.

Ali’s (Uday Chopra) dream of becoming a police officer has come true. He is now ACP Jai Dixit’s (Abhishek Bachchan) ‘right hand man’. Together, they are trying to keep a tight leash on the crime in India. Little do they know what they are going to be up against.

Enter Aryan - Mr. A (Hrithik Roshan) - A hi-tech international thief. After pulling off a series of impossible heists all over the world, his next target is Mumbai, India. The case is given to ACP Jai and Ali. Helping them put the pieces of the puzzle together is ACP Shonali Bose (Bipasha Basu), Jai’s college mate, now a police officer in her own right. For the last two years Shonali has been tracking these amazing thefts and is now an expert on this thief, who no one has seen.

Once in Mumbai, Mr. A finds his match in Sunehri (Aishwarya Rai), a petty yet clever thief. She makes him an offer he finds very hard to refuse. A partnership! Aryan accepts.

And so the game begins - a game of cat and mouse - a game of good v/s bad.

The “COPS” - Jai, Shonali and Ali; and they are after Aryan and Sunehri - “The ROBBERS”.

From the desert of Namibia to the backwaters of Goa, the mean streets of Mumbai and the ancient forts of Rajasthan, and finally to “Wild n Exotic” Rio, Brazil.

Does ACP Jai Dixit manage to nab Mr. A? Or does Mr. A prove to be too much for him?

Never-Seen-Before Action Sequences, Hi-Tech Heists, Breathtaking Hi-Speed Chases, Non-Stop Laughter and Excitement will lead you to the answer to these questions.
