This Is All About Aishwarya Rai

November 3, 2006

umraao_aishwarya_coolbolly.jpg

What can i say about my favorite bollywood superstar. The most galmorous, the most beautiful, the charming blue-eyed baby, the tulip, Aishwarya Rai

She rules the hearts of millions and is touted as one of the most beautiful actresses ever to grace Indian cinema. Aishwarya Rai, who turns 33 Wednesday, returns to the marquee after a long hiatus - playing a courtesan in “Umrao Jaan” and an oomph girl in “Dhoom 2″.

The actress, who is said to be dating Abhishek Bachchan, will reportedly announce her engagement on her birthday. According to insiders, Abhishek’s ailing grandmother Teji Bachchan is eager to see him married, and the couple is said to be planning to tie the knot early next year.

But Aishwarya, who is apparently attending family dinners and get-togethers at the Bachchan household, is tight-lipped about her relationship.

She is currently busy promoting her two films. In Yash Raj Films’ upcoming “Dhoom 2″, Aishwarya plays a hi-tech thief along with Hrithik Roshan, while in J.P. Dutta’s “Umrao Jaan”, a screen adaptation of Mirza Mohammed Haadi Ruswa’s Urdu novel “Umrao Jaan Ada” and a tragic historical, she plays a courtesan.

“When Dutta narrated the script to me, I told him that if you get Aishwarya to play the role of Umrao Jaan only then make the film, else drop it. According to me, the character requires an enigmatic quality to it. This is what I feel Aishwarya’s personality symbolises,” said well-known lyricist Javed Akhtar on the actress.

“Hers is a personality that is a kind of riddle. Even Dutta felt the same way and now after watching the finished product I feel that no one else could have made it.”

Aishwarya Rai All Set To Marry Abhishek In 2007

October 28, 2006

aishwarya_rai_coolbolly2.jpgWow!!! I call this a big shock. I mean a big surprise. I don’t know how to react. Two days ago i posted a news regarding Aishwarya saying that people think that she is dating Abhishek. Well, Hummmm… Stop thinking guys. Start believing. Aishwarya and Abhishek are all set to marry in 2007.
According to Kannada newspaper ‘Vijayakarnataka’, Aishwarya and Abhishek will tie the knot sometime in February, 2007 and Aishwarya will officially announce the news on her birthday, November 1.

The story was revealed to the newspaper by Bachchan family’s astrologer Chandrashekhara Swamiji. According to him the year 2006 will be unlucky for the married couple and so he advised Aishwarya and Abhishek to marry in 2007.

There is, however, no official confirmation of the reported wedding. The two stars, who have been romantically linked since over an year now, have consistently refused to confirm media speculation on the issue.

Past media reports have suggested that the couple have kept their wedding plans in abeyance pending a nod from the

Bachchan family, something that has so far not been forthcoming. In the recent past Ash has made great efforts to assuage any misgivings that the Bachchan family may have harbored about her abilities as a homemaker. Her efforts at winning the hearts of the Bachchan family include a hospital visit to Abhishek’s grandmother Teji Bachchan and frequent visits to the Bachchan home. Recently she and her family spent their Diwali with the Bachchans.

According to the report, Aishwarya (born in Dhanu Rashi) and Abhishek (born in Kumbha Rashi) marriage was likely to face roadblocks in 2006 problems but, from October 27, when the planetary positions change, both Ash and Abhi will have the support of Jupiter (Guru-bruhaspathi).

A horoscope match was confirmed in Nov 2005 when Amitabh’s brother, Ajitabh, visited a priest in Bangalore in the company of Abhishek, at the behest of Teji Bachchan.

It is reported that the ailing Teji Bachchan is very keen to see her grandson wed.

However it still remains to be seen how much truth lies behind all these rumours. Aishwarya has always been tightlipped about the relationship while Abhishek has managed to evade the topic whenever he has confronted the issue.

Is it another publicity gimmick ahead of the release of Aishwarya and Abhishek starrer movies - Dhoom 2 & Umrao Jaan? God knows. I think i will be happy to see Aishwarya tie a knot with Abhishek. Atleast that may put an end to Ashu and Vivek Oberoi’s friendship.

All the best to both Aishwarya and Abhishek Bachchan!!!

Aishwarya Says That People Think She Is Dating Abhishek Bachchan

October 27, 2006

aishwarya-rai82e.jpgAishwarya!!! You still believe that we are thinking that you are dating Abhishek Bachchan. Hey, we actually believed that you were dating him. Don’t give us so many shocks yaar!!!

Alright let’s talk about Umrao Jaan and Dhoom 2 and then wonder about Abhishek!!

As all Aishwarya fans wait eagerly for ‘Umrao Jaan’, Ash herself remains calm and serene. One reason, perhaps, is that her performance in this JP Dutta film has already been lauded by those who’ve got a chance to see it.

“It was an absolute honour to play Umrao,: she confesses and adds, “I saw the earlier ‘Umrao Jaan’ when I was very young, on television. I had never imagined I’d be playing that role. God has been kind to me.”

Regarding the original version of Umrao Jaan performed by the veteran actress Rekha, Aishwarya Rai said that, ‘Whenever there are remakes being made, I am not given to the temptation of watching the original as there could be some visual impression that could influence my performance.’

She doesn’t even want to think about it as a comparison with Rekha.

“Rekhaji and I share a different kind of bond. She has had the chance to play a mujrewali in other films too. But for me, in the current scenario when such films are not being made, to play a role like this is something else,” tells Ash.

Acknowledging that she plays a totally different role in Dhoom 2 Rai says, “I have so far largely played Indian characters…this appearance, in the western mould is definitely new.”

To play Sunehri in Dhoom 2, Ash had to get back into shape to play a glamorous seductress in the western mould. Throughout the film she is attired in skimpy western clothes that reveal her now stunning figure.

While excited about playing an altogether different role she also appears circumspect that she may get to be tagged with the dubious title of India’s sex symbol at this stage in her career. Quite apparantly she does not want her fans to read too much from her attire.

But what about her association with Abhishek Bachchan?

“It’s because you are seeing us together on screen more often that people think there is something more. Hrithik and Abhishek are the two actors with whom I’m paired in all my forthcoming releases,” gushes Aishwarya.

Aishwarya Rai Loves Being A Glam Doll

October 27, 2006

aishwarya_rai_coolbolly1.jpgSo My sweetheart is back in news. She is my favorite whatsoever. So no bad comments for her in here. Okay people. Enjoy the news of our Glam Doll Baby

Aishwarya Rai is back in India after a brief stint in Hollywood and she has some big banner Bollywood movies lined up.

Except for Last Legion and Provoked, Aishwarya has no Hollywood film lined up for release this year.

The only English script that she is ready to talk about is a Will Smith movie. And she is not talking about her other Hollywood ventures either like French remake Chaos with Meryl Streep and Singularity directed by Roland Joff.

However, both films are yet to take off the ground.

“There are quite a few scripts from abroad but I hope to be able to work with Will Smith. The script was great and it will be fun to work with him,” Aishwarya said.

But there are quite a few Bollywood flicks lined up for Aishwarya including, Guru by Mani Ratnam, Jodha-Akbar by Ashutosh Gowatrikar and Sarkar 2 by Ram Gopal Varma.

Her forthcoming releases include, Umrao Jaan and Dhoom 2.

As for future Hollywood projects, Aishwarya said that like many other things in life, she would leave it for the time and the dates to decide.

“I really want time to decide. I don’t know what will come my way. I will go through the scripts, will look at the dates and only then will sign newer movies,” she said.

“I believe in the power of saying ‘no’. When I am not convinced about something. I simply say no,” she added.

Talking about Umrao Jaan, Aishwarya said she avoided watching the original film when the movie was being made.

“Whenever there are remakes being made, I am not given to the temptation of watching the original as there could be some visual impression that could influence my performance. I like to keep away from emulation or repetition,” she explained.

About her brand new look in Dhoom 2 Aishwarya said that she had never before essayed the role of a character like Sunheri.

“I think I have done lot of Indian characters, but playing a westernised character in Dhoom 2 was different,” Aishwarya said, who also did her own stunts in the movie.

I am in love with Aishwarya. Who isn’t. But there are only two guys who have loved here with true heart. One is me SJ and other is SK. You know who! Wait till i get my all aishwarya site ready to be launched. All Aishwarya Rai therein.

What To Expect From Aishwarya Rai Now

October 24, 2006

aishwarya_rai_coolbolly.jpgYash Raj films’ Dhoom simply turned around the John Abraham’s career yet producer Aditya decided to rope in a fresh appeal for Dhoom 2. He went ahead and roped in even bigger stars like Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai for the role of the villains.

So far this year, Ash fans in India have had to be content with seeing the Bollywood beauty on the small screen endorsing brands or gracing events such as the Cannes film festival. Rai’s only film released in 2006, Provoked has still to do the rounds in India.

However, despair not. The seemingly interminable wait to see the enchanting Bollyood beauty, larger than life on the silver screen, is now nearing its end. Incidently, the wait was not because Rai had too few assignment on hand but because she had too many of them.

Speaking about the diversity of her roles in the forthcoming films Aishwarya told a TV channel, “What’s nice about these three films coming up is that each character is distinctly different. So while Umrao Jaan is a courtesan a lot more ornate visually while Dhoom is very contemporary and racy…something that you have not seen me do.

The actor will soon be seen in four big ticket films in quick succession. The bonanza starts with JP Dutta’s Umrao Jaan. Next in line are Yash Raj Films Dhoom 2, followed by Mani Ratnam’s Guru. Finally, we will see her on 19 Jan 2007 in the $67 million Hollywood period action adventure The Last Legion, distributed by MGM.

What is interesting about Rai forthcoming films is that other than herself, nothing else is common in them. The films belong to different genres, her roles in them are diverse and the filmmakers that made them are a breed apart. All indications that Rai is now a matured actor.

The Stars

Aishwarya Rai as Sunehri aishwaryarai_dhoom2.jpg

Sunehri, the “golden girl” treats every opportunity as a golden chance. She stays in the suburbs of Mumbai, but dreams big. She dreams of Amsterdam, of Australia… even America.

Spunky, spontaneous and sexy, Sunehri lives life one day at a time. The danger or repercussion of anything never occurs to her sharp yet innocent mind. And that is probably because nothing really bad has ever happened to her. But the most significant event that does occur is when Aryan comes into her life.

From that moment her life takes a new turn; actually a couple of turns. The resulting ’spin’ takes her on a ride she won’t forget in a hurry.

Abhishek Bachchan as Jai Dixit abhishekbachchan_dhoom2.jpg

In a world ridden with crime and criminals, the need of the hour is a law enforcement officer who can bring things to order. A tough yet sharp Super Cop.

ACP Jai Dixit is all this and more. A Super Cop with a mission… to put an end to crime. As always he believes that it is his job to eliminate crime, not the criminal. A no-nonsense police officer, he fights his battle against all odds and leads from the front.

His newest assignment - Mr. “A” - an international thief. How do you catch a thief who leaves behind no clues… who no one has ever seen.

Jai Dixit has a plan. He rises up to the challenge and is soon on the trail of the Master Thief.

But is it that he has met his match this time?

Hritikh Roshan as Aryanhritikhroshan_dhoom2.jpg

He works alone!

He trusts no one!

No one has seen him!

He pulls off the most daring and impossible heists. He comes out of nowhere and disappears without a trace. Police all around the world are baffled. His methods are innovative and modern. His planning, flawless.

He’s cool, he’s hot. He’s smooth yet tough. With looks that could make any woman go weak in the knees, there is finesse in everything he does. A connoisseur, he has style and a fine taste for all the things in life; be it food, wine or clothes.

As Jai Dixit says at one point… He’s the perfect thief!

He is Aryan. He is the elusive Mr. “A”!

But it is said that all criminals make at least one mistake.

Does Aryan slip up? Does he make that one fatal error?

Bipasha Basu as Shonali Bose bipashabasu_dhoom2.jpg

She is attractive, intelligent, vivacious, honest, sexy, hardworking, beautiful and an awesome dancer.

All these qualities not being any kind of pre-requisite, she is a police officer. ACP Shonali Bose is a cop and a damn good one.

Like her college mate Jai Dixit, she too works in great detail to get into the mind of the criminal. And that’s what she has done for the last two years. She is an expert on Mr. “A”.

Having won many medals for being the best sharpshooter in the force, it can be said that she never misses her target. The only difference between her and Jai is that she wouldn’t think twice before shooting down a criminal.

Nothing personal… it’s just what she believes - one criminal dead is one criminal less!

Uday Chopra as Ali udaychopra_dhoom2.jpg

His “Mummy” is definitely watching over him as his guardian angel. But Ali still doesn’t take his life too seriously.

Although, he is now a police officer and Jai Dixit’s partner, the equation between them is still the same. He still loves riding his bike. He still falls in love with every single woman he meets! And he still gets regularly reprimanded by Jai Dixit.

He still has his yellow bike and still feels very much at home in Jai’s house. He still believes that life is simple and that it is we who complicate it.

He still has a big heart and a smile that is even bigger.

And it is still true that he and Jai make a great team. He is fiercely loyal to Jai and if push comes to shove, he will go to any extent to fight for him.

And he’s still funny… actually… funnier!

So What’s The Story Of Dhoom - 2 dhoom2_themovie.jpg

The world’s oldest desert, the Namib…

A solitary railway line…

A royal family on a royal journey…

From the sky, like lightning… a FLASH!

The centuries old Royal Crown is stolen!

BACK IN ACTION… DHOOM:2 reinvents the action comedy genre and propels it into the 21st century.

Ali’s (Uday Chopra) dream of becoming a police officer has come true. He is now ACP Jai Dixit’s (Abhishek Bachchan) ‘right hand man’. Together, they are trying to keep a tight leash on the crime in India. Little do they know what they are going to be up against.

Enter Aryan - Mr. A (Hrithik Roshan) - A hi-tech international thief. After pulling off a series of impossible heists all over the world, his next target is Mumbai, India. The case is given to ACP Jai and Ali. Helping them put the pieces of the puzzle together is ACP Shonali Bose (Bipasha Basu), Jai’s college mate, now a police officer in her own right. For the last two years Shonali has been tracking these amazing thefts and is now an expert on this thief, who no one has seen.

Once in Mumbai, Mr. A finds his match in Sunehri (Aishwarya Rai), a petty yet clever thief. She makes him an offer he finds very hard to refuse. A partnership! Aryan accepts.

And so the game begins - a game of cat and mouse - a game of good v/s bad.

The “COPS” - Jai, Shonali and Ali; and they are after Aryan and Sunehri - “The ROBBERS”.

From the desert of Namibia to the backwaters of Goa, the mean streets of Mumbai and the ancient forts of Rajasthan, and finally to “Wild n Exotic” Rio, Brazil.

Does ACP Jai Dixit manage to nab Mr. A? Or does Mr. A prove to be too much for him?

Never-Seen-Before Action Sequences, Hi-Tech Heists, Breathtaking Hi-Speed Chases, Non-Stop Laughter and Excitement will lead you to the answer to these questions.
