Aishwarya Called By Custom Department For Interrogation

November 15, 2006

aishwarya_beautiful_rai_coolbolly1.jpgAishwarya Rai is once again in news but this time for a wrong reason. She has been called by the Customs Department for interrogation. It has been reported that a parcel from Netherlands has arrived that contains 24,000 euros, a DVD player, a Ralph Lauren Polo Sport T-shirt and pair of binoculars addressed to her.

The Customs Department has summoned Aishwarya to be present in their office at Ballard Pier. But when the actress failed to respond to the officials, they opened the parcel in front of witnesses. According to police, Aishwarya has to visit the Customs House to give her statement else she would be issued summons.

Aishwarya who is currently shooting for Ashutosh Gowarikar’s Jodha Akbar is not in Mumbai and will possibly return by this weekend.

What’s The Similarity Between Sherlyn And Mallika?

November 15, 2006

sherlyn_chopra1.jpgDo you know what sex siren Mallika Sherawat has in common with new bombshell Sherlyn Chopra?

While Sherlyn plays a psychotic killer in Vinod ‘Sins’ Pande’s next film ‘Red Swastik’, Mallika too plays a role with negative shades in Kamal Haasan’s forthcoming Tamil film ‘Dasavataram’.

But the similarities don’t end there! While Kamal is said to have essayed ten different characters with Mallika as the villain in his film, Sherlyn murders the same number of men in ‘Red Swastik’!

Well That’s more than similarity. Looks to be intentional. I really can’t digest this to be a coincidence. What do you think?

Maybe Manisha Koirala Is Going To Join Politics

November 15, 2006

manisha_koirala.jpgAfter a stint in Bollywood, actress Manisha Koirala, grand daughter of Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala, is now thinking of dabbling in Nepalese politics.

Manisha might float a new political party to join politics, her family sources said.

However, it is unlikely that the Nepali Congress party, which had expelled her father Prakash Koirala for favouring King Gyanendra’s autocratic regime, would grant her membership, according to Nepali Congress sources.

Prakash Koirala became Education Minister during the King’s 14-month-long direct rule.

Nepalese student bodies asked people to boycott Manisha’s films after she openly canvassed for a Mayoral candidate two years ago during municipal polls, which was boycotted by pro-democracy alliance.

Manisha’s grandfather B P Koirala was the first elected PM of Nepal 45 years ago when NC got two third majority.

Now his younger brother G P Koirala is the Prime Minister of the Seven Party Alliance government that has forced the King to quit power in April after a 19-day uprising.

Manisha, who is involved in different social activities, frequently visits her hometown Biratnagar in eastern Nepal.

Manisha’s foray into politics will possibly not go well with the Prime Minister’s daughter Sujata, who considers her a rival, party insiders say. Manisha’s younger brother Shashank, a doctor by profession, is a central member of the Nepali Congress.

Family sources refused to give the media a date for her entry into Nepalese politics. “It is upto Manisha to decide when to join politics”, Prakash Koirala said.
All the best Manisha. Though we never expected you to fall into web of politics. Still…Do well

Mukesh Ambani Looking Forward For Abhishek’s Guru

November 15, 2006

abhishek_guru.jpgMukesh Ambani has expressed interest in seeing Mani Ratnam’s Guru, a film believed to be inspired by the life of Dhirubhai Ambani and due to hit theatres on 29 Dec 2006. However, Ratnam is not ready to oblige.

Abhishek Bachchan plays the lead in the film as a young and ambitious man who makes all his dreams come true. Paired opposite him, Aishwarya Rai essays the role of Dhirubhai’s wife Kokilaben. Madhavan plays a close lieutenant of Abhishek and Vidya Balan in a small but pivotal role plays Mahadevan’s love interest.

Arya Babbar’s role as Rai’s brother is believed to be based on the character of Rasik Meswani. In the film, Bachchan treats Babbar as his son but, in a reel life departure from real life, Babbar betrays Bachchan.

In yet another deviation, Bachchan is shown to have twin sons.

The last big film of the year, Guru is being described as Mani Ratnam’s most ambitious film to date.

Other credited cast includes Mallika Sherawat and Mithun Chakravarty.

All the best to Guru and it’s crew.

Even we all are looking forward to see it. Certainly the last big banner movie to be released this year. Cool

Careful! Don’t Go Near Rani

November 15, 2006

rani_mukherjee.jpgMediapersons from a news channel were allegedly assaulted by private security guards escorting actors Rani Mukherjee, Konkana Sen Sharma and other crew members of Yash Raj banner’s upcoming movie being shot in Varanasi.

The trouble started near the Dashwashamedh Ghat when the film crew, including Rani and Konkana, were leaving for their hotel after a day-long shoot at Mirghat edging the Ganga river.

When some journalists tried to get close to the crew members, security guards escorting the film crew roughed up the mediapersons.

Some of the journalists sustained injuries and one camera was damaged. Later, the police reached the spot and took control of the situation.

The film is being directed by Pradeep Sarkar of Parineeta fame and also stars Abhishek Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan.

It is likely to be shot over the next fortnight at various locations in the holy city, including the Ramnagar Fort housing royal family of Kashi.

So just be careful. Don’t go very near to any celebrity. Especially of Rani Mukherjee fame or if you see some bouncers along with the stars. They might just show you the stars you don’t want to see. And relax. Rani is still very very very sweet ;) She has nothing to do with this incident.

Ajay And Kajol For The Sixth Time

November 9, 2006

ajay_kajol.jpgAjay Devgan will be directing his actress wife Kajol in a new Bollywood movie to be launched soon.

Devgan himself will be playing the lead role and this will be the star couple’s sixth movie together, The Times of India daily reported. Kajol, who uses one name, took a five-year break after marrying Devgan in 2001 and returned to acting this year with a hit movie “Fanaa”.

She recently joined a Latin American and western dance class, putting the cha-cha, salsa and waltz in her repertoire.

Devgan has been planning to direct a film for long time.

His first home production “Raju Chacha”, or “Raju Uncle,” was directed by his cousin Anil Devgan. There were reports that Ajay Devan actually wielded the megaphone, ghost directing the movie.

Well, our best wishes to the excellent couple. All the best guys!

Phir Tere Naam Or Tere Naam II?

November 9, 2006

salman_khan.jpgAlright, the current trend in Bollywood says, make remakes and more remakes. Well, our handsome Bollywood star Salman Khan has come up with a bright idea as well. He has asked producers Sunil Manchanda and Mukesh Talreja to make a sequel to his mega hit Tere Naam and take the story forward. Well, that a rocking decision Sallu Bhai.

When contacted, Manchanda said: “It’s not yet fully confirmed if we will make the sequel to Tere Naam but we are definitely toying with the idea and are currently working on the script. Let’s see. If the final output of the script excites us, we’ll definitely go ahead with it.” Ask us Mr. Manchanda, we are ready for Tere Naam II.

Manchandra confirms that the film would definitely star Salman Khan, he refuses to divulge anything more about the project and is also keeping quiet about the other cast. For some obvious fact, I know if Salman is not there in the sequel, the movie will be destined to flop.

In Tere Naam, the film ended with Salman opting to go back into the mental asylum as he is deeply affected by the death of his ladylove. The sequel will supposedly have Salman coming out of the asylum and finding out how the world around him has changed. The prequel was directed by Satish Kaushik and also starred Bhoomika Chawla. She looked too but if the predicted script is true, there is no chance we will see Bhoomika in there. But you never know. We all are eagerly waiting for the final confirmation.

Manisha Acts With Brother In Anwar

November 9, 2006

manisha-koirala.jpgIt’s been really long that we heard about Manisha Koirala. Lately, i haven’t seen film or news regarding her. So…can we say that she is making a comeback?

Anyways, Bollywood Director Manish Jha is launching his film “Anwar” where in Manisha Koirala and brother Siddharth are playing the leading roles in the film.

Siddharth plays Anwar who is trapped inside a temple while his sister, played by Manisha, tries to capitalise on the incident for her channel.

Produced by Rajesh Singh’s banner Dayal Creations Ltd, the film revolves around Anwar, an artist who leaves his home in search of a better world but finds himself trapped inside a temple where he is exploited by people with vested interests.

The film, which is ready for release sometime in November, also has Nauheed Cyrusi, Vijay Raaz, Rajpal Yadav and Hiten Tejwani. Interesting Cast. Interesting script. I think we need to watch out for this movie.

Jiah Khan Is Ramu’s Best Discovery

November 9, 2006

jiah_khan.jpgThere is a certain buzz about the 18-year-old actress Jiah Khan. It is said that Jiah is Ramu’s best discovery. I guess i heard the same comments at the time Urmila made it to Bollywood.
Jiah Khan is working with Amitabh Bachchan in Ram Gopal Varma’s “Nishabd”. She has captured the imagination of the industry and is being called Bollywood’s true blue new diva.

She is also being talked about as Varma’s best discovery since Urmila Mantondkar. And she certainly is up there in the oomph factor with a great attitude to match.

A prominent trade analyst, who has seen the rushes of “Nishabd”, said: “She is definitely going it to be as big as Urmila when ‘Nishabd’ will be released. The girl is simply sensational.”

Jiah has been approached by four big banners but she couldn’t accept the offer because she is under contract until the release of “Nishabd”.
All the best Jiah. Have a rocking career ahead in bollywood. And hey, always give us something to chit chat about here in Cool Bollywood.

Please, Sherlyn Chopra Is Not A Pakistani Gal

November 9, 2006

sherlyn_chopra.jpgNowadays, actress Sherlyn Chopra is continuously perturbed with a case of mistaken identity with Pakistani actress Monalisa (the one who is making her Indian debut in the Sunny Deol-starrer ‘Kaafila’).

“I’m very much an Indian, hailing from Andhra Pradesh. There’s nothing Pakistani about me,” quips Sherlyn, who is also a winner of the Miss Andhra crown. However, she doesn’t wish to blame anyone for the confusion.

“I don’t even know how it started, maybe because my earlier screen-name was Mona,” she states and adds, “I realized it first when a gentleman addressed me as Monalisa at a Mumbai coffee shop where I was discussing my film ‘Red Swastik’.

Now ‘my’ pictures have started appearing with Monalisa’s name in papers, so its high time to clarify”. O come on Sherlyn, stop comparing yourself to Monalisa. You are much better and known at this point of time. So just relax.

By the way, For the record, Sherlyn is actually half-Christian and half-Muslim with Persian origins and a Punjabi surname. Now now! That doesn’t make her a Pakistani but surely a crossbreed. He He. Oops, Solly
