Isha Koppikar Praises Shahrukh Khan
November 20, 2006
Praises galore for Shah Rukh Khan. No it is not Kareena Kapoor - this time around Bollywood Baadshah has cast his spell on Isha Koppikar.
She is completely in awe of Shah Rukh after working with him in “Don - The Chase Begins”. She is still reeling from the “Don” hangover.
“I’m elated. ‘Don’ has been an entertaining and fulfilling experience. Shah Rukh is a great guy and a selfless actor. He’s not just concerned about his performance but worries about everyone present on the set. He has a great sense of humour and is very young at heart. Even Farhan Akhtar is full of life,” said Isha.
Isha has an interesting line up of upcoming films including “Salaam-E-Ishq”, “Shabri” and “Darling”.
We certainly enjoyed and praised her work in Don. We wish all the best to Isha for her upcoming films. May you do even more better than what you did in Don.
Madhuri Dixit All Set To Make A ComeBack In Bollywood: Yash
November 19, 2006
Actress Madhuri Dixit will stage a comeback to the Bollywood early next year, director Yash Chopra said today.
“Madhuri will be staging a comeback to Bollywood in a film directed by Anil Mehta under the banner of Yash Raj films,” he told reporters here.
The acting schedule of the film casting Madhuri will commence in first week of January next, he said.
Madhuri, who gave several hit films, is married to a US-based doctor and is a mother of two children.
Chopra, however, refrained from divulging the details including name of the film.
The Bollywood director, who was in the city to attend a meeting of Chandigarh Tourism Advisory Forum, was not averse to the trend in the film industry to make sequel to hit movies.
“Every one has a right to make a movie,” he said, adding he, however, would not come up with a film which was a re-make of earlier hit movies.
Chopra said during the next year as many as six movies would be released by his company.
Katrina Kaif’s Skirt Issue
November 19, 2006
Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti’s dargah committee has decided to issue notice to actress Katrina Kaif for wearing a knee-length skirt inside the dargah premises.
Filming a sequence for “Namaste London”, which featured Kaif wearing a knee-length skirt inside Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti’s dargah in Ajmer, over 140 km from here, had created uproar among ‘khadims’ (servers) and the shrine administration.
A similar notice has been issued to actor Rishi Kapoor, director Vipul Shah and Babu Bhair Goshi, the shooting arranger for rolling the cameras without taking prior permission of the dargah authority.
The notice reads that all the accused should feel sorry for their act or they would be sued in the court of law.
“We have located the addresses of all the people except that of Katrina, which is being searched by the committee,” Dargah Nazim Abdul Alim informed.
As per Islamic traditions, women wearing skimpy outfits are not allowed into the shrine and dargah officials and the Muslim community had taken exception to Kaif’s attire.
It may be mentioned here that on Oct 2, while filming a sequence of “Namaste London”, Kaif had walked into the dargah wearing a knee-length skirt, which had created a ruckus.
Dargah committee vice-president Sayed B. Chisti, while objecting to it, had said it was the duty of office-bearers accompanying the Bollywood team to ensure the sanctity of the shrine.
At the time of controversy, the film’s director Vipul Shah had said: “There was no intention of hurting anyone’s sentiments or religious feelings. Katrina’s attire was in keeping with her role as a London-based NRI. We are even ready to drop the scene from the film.”
Saif Ali Khan On A Mission, Quits Smoking
November 19, 2006
This comes as a surprise. I boast of being a movie buff but I didn’t even knew that he smoked. Anyways,Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has joined an anti-tobacco campaign and started drinking a lot of water to give up cigarettes.
”I drink water every time I feel like having a cigarette and I kind of feel like I have achieved something really big,” Khan told a national daily in an interview published on Wednesday.
He described smoking as disgusting and said it was ”a killer,” but said he was unsure how long he would be able to keep away from cigarettes.
”There is a high chance that I will go back to that deadly addiction, but I hope not,” the daily quoted him as saying.
Bollywood’s top actor Shah Rukh Khan also is trying to quit smoking.
Last year, Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss wrote to Shah Rukh Khan, asking him to join an anti-tobacco campaign.
Health experts say teenagers who watch films in which stars smoke are three times more likely to try smoking, and those whose favorite stars light up on screen are 16 times more likely to have positive attitudes toward smoking.
A World Health Organisation survey of tobacco use in movies made by India’s massive, prolific Hindi-language film industry - dubbed ”Bollywood” - showed that more than 76 per cent of its most popular films in 1991 to 2002 depicted some sort of tobacco use, mostly cigarettes.
The WHO says tobacco claims 5 million lives a year. According to government statistics, more than 800,000 Indians die each year from smoking-related illnesses.
Well Done Saif! Wish you all the best for this mission.

November 18, 2006
Australian pace bowler, Brett Lee alongside Indian legendary but ever so melodious Asha Bhosle. That’s an awesome news. Won’t make a big difference to Asha ji’s popularity. What i meant was that it’s a great news for Brett Lee as now more Indians will come to know about his other talents.
Brett Lee, known for his never-say-die approach on the cricket field, has shown a more gentle side off it, recording a love song with a legendary Indian singer.
The 30-year-old Lee and Asha Bhonsle, a 74-year-old famous for her diverse range from love songs to caberet and funky pop, headed for the studio during Australia’s victorious campaign in the Champions Trophy, staged in India in October and November.
The song portrays a love affair between a foreigner and an Indian girl, a leading newspaper reported on Friday.
“Other than cricket, my passion is music,” Lee was quoted in the daily as saying. “So when told I’d be singing with a legend in India, I was glad.”
Lee plays bass and acoustic guitar in rock band Six & Out that also features his older brother, Shane. His mother is a qualified piano teacher.
The blonde paceman made his test debut in 1999, and has bagged 211 wickets, along with recording 255 dismissals in one-day internationals.

Man On A Mission, Wanted To Kill Mallika Sherawat
November 18, 2006
Rajesh Dalal, A man wanted by the Delhi police in several cases of kidnapping, robbery and attempt to murder, confessed to have conspired to kill actor Mallika Sherawat.
He was arrested on Monday night from Sangli-Kolhapur highway and brought to Delhi. But as he was being tom-tommed before the press, Dalal shouted out that he wanted to kill Mallika Sherawat because of her disparaging remarks against the Jats.
“She has been exposing too much and bringing a bad name to the community. I had been planning to kill her for past some time,†he told.
However, according to police, this is just a cheap publicity stunt by Dalal “to divert attention from his cases.â€
“He has nothing to do with Mallika and he is not even from Haryana that he should be offended by her alleged statements against the Jats,†says Neeraj Thakur, Deputy Commissioner of Police.
On the other hand, Mallika seems unfazed by such threats.
“Death threats don’t scare me. However, I want to make one thing clear - it is not my intention to offend the sensibilities of my people. I respect our culture and traditions,†the actor said in a statement.
Sherawat added that she believed in the empowerment of women. “Every woman should have the ability to stand on her own feet, earn a living and excel in her chosen career, which is exactly what I am trying to do,†she said.
However her spokesperson Parul Gossain tells that her parents are very concerned for her considering beefing up her security.
Delhi Police brought Dalal to the capital yesterday. He, originally hails from Nangloi, had graduated in commerce from Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak, Haryana and started to crime in 1999, when he kidnapped his own estranged wife from her Paschim Vihar residence.
In 2005, Dalal was also involved in robbing Rs 9 lakh from a petrol pump manager at an Allahabad Bank in Paschim Vihar

Celina Teaches “The Molester” A Lesson
November 16, 2006
Celina Jaitely had filed a complaint with Santa Cruz police after a German national, Marcos Fredrick made obscene gestures and passed lewd remarks about her in the lobby of J W Marriott Hotel at Juhu. How dare he did that. *Fuming*
It was only after Marcos Fredrick apologised to model-turned actress in writing she withdrew the complaint. That wasn’t right. She withdrew her complaint too early. Atleast she should let him have some dandas and laddoos in an Indian Jail. Anyways…..
Celina had gone to the pre-release party of her film, Apna Sapna Money, Money late last night at the J W Marriott hotel in suburban Santacruz when the incident happened, the sources added.
“It took me about half-an-hour to make a decision. In fact, I spoke to my father who told me I should take a stand against any kind of harassment. I will not take any injustice lying down. Besides, I also want to set an example for the others. I don’t care a damn about what people think and say about me.” told Celina.
Way to go Celina. You surely set a good example for others. Just don’t ignore them. Teach them a lesson. Well done!
