Is Hrithik Roshan The Real King Of Bollywood

Imagine, a multi crore deal. Somewhere to the amount of 35 crores. Freedom to chose the nature of roles in the film. Freedom to chose the director, the cast, the costars, the movie script, etc, etc, etc. Boy, isn’t that a kingly TOO MUCH!!!

The entire film industry is staggered by the weight of Hrithik’ Roshan’s multi-crore three-film deal with Adlabs.

But there is more to boggle Bollywood’s collective mind. According to a highly placed source Hrithik has been given a carte- blanche by Adlabs.

Says the source, “Not only has Hrithik been signed for his an unheard-of amount by Adlabs he also has the freedom to pick and choose the nature and genre of the projects.

The superstar is free to choose the director of his own choice, as well as the script, co-star and the rest of the unit and crew for each set-up. In short Hrithik is in complete creative control of what he chooses to do, with whom.”

Though the Krissh star isn’t allowed to talk about the deal or what kind of films he would like to do with Adlabs, apparently he’s looking at the new breed of directors who have come in during the last two years.

In the meanwhile Rakesh Roshan has finally zeroed in on a story idea for his next super-hero film with Hrithik. This film is expected to start sometime towards the end of 2007. At the moment Hrithik is all set to leave for Jaipur to start shooting for Ashutosh Gowariker’s Jodha-Akbar. Once that’s out of the way he starts work on Zoya Akhtar’s film. So when would he be able to do the three films for Adlabs?

“Oh, that’s no problem. The deal stretches into three years. So Hrithik can spread out the films as and how he likes,”says the source.

In the meanwhile Bollywood’s highest paid actor was busy on Wednesday night bringing in his wife Suzanne’s birthday on Thursday. “I’ll speak about all this at the right time.”

Great going Hrithik. Simply great!!!

So How Old Do You Think Is Mallika Sherawat?

So how old is Mallika Sherawat. 25, 35 or 45. It’s not so simple as it seems. Don’t guess. Raed further. Yet again another controversy has surfaced regarding Mallika Sherawat and this one concerns her age. The tabloids insist that she cannot be 25 years old as claimed by her mother. Instead, she could well be 35 years old.

A private TV channel even aired Sherawat’s group photo taken in way back 1995 when she was working as an airhostess. Records show her age then to be 24 years old!

Mallika, who celebrated a birthday earlier this week, is however amused by all the speculation.

Talking to a leading news channel, she joked, “You know something. I’m 45 and I have two grandkids. “ It’s just that about me there’s more misinformation than information. And surprisingly, they inflate all my positives and negatives. They inflate my ego, my success, my failure — and now they’ve inflated my age!”

Having earned rave reviews for her performance in Pyaar Ke Side Effects, Sherawat will be now seen as an ex-CIA agent in a movie ‘Dasavatharam’ with Kamal Hassan, where the actor himself plays a record-breaking ten roles!

Reveals Ravi Kumar, director of the movie, “Mallika agreed to do the movie even before she saw the script. She plays a bold, modern girl. It was a pleasure working with her as she would report every morning at seven on the dot.”

“But one had to be professional since Kamal himself would reach the sets around 2.30 -3 am everyday!

He would do his make-up for about five hours and by the time Mallika arrived he would be ready for the shot,” he adds.

So while her kitty is full of work why is she keeping a low profile these days?

“I really haven’t been keeping a low profile. I just think and believe that it is time for me to shut up and do some good work. I’ve blabbed enough,” she gushes.

Don’t know about you. But i believe her mother. Well look at her in swimsuit. How can one dare guess her age. What’s the point. She seems to be 25 yrs old to me. That way atleast i can dare to date her. Wow! Lol. In my dreams, Damn it!

Aishwarya Rai All Set To Marry Abhishek In 2007

Wow!!! I call this a big shock. I mean a big surprise. I don’t know how to react. Two days ago i posted a news regarding Aishwarya saying that people think that she is dating Abhishek. Well, Hummmm… Stop thinking guys. Start believing. Aishwarya and Abhishek are all set to marry in 2007.
According to Kannada newspaper ‘Vijayakarnataka’, Aishwarya and Abhishek will tie the knot sometime in February, 2007 and Aishwarya will officially announce the news on her birthday, November 1.

The story was revealed to the newspaper by Bachchan family’s astrologer Chandrashekhara Swamiji. According to him the year 2006 will be unlucky for the married couple and so he advised Aishwarya and Abhishek to marry in 2007.

There is, however, no official confirmation of the reported wedding. The two stars, who have been romantically linked since over an year now, have consistently refused to confirm media speculation on the issue.

Past media reports have suggested that the couple have kept their wedding plans in abeyance pending a nod from the

Bachchan family, something that has so far not been forthcoming. In the recent past Ash has made great efforts to assuage any misgivings that the Bachchan family may have harbored about her abilities as a homemaker. Her efforts at winning the hearts of the Bachchan family include a hospital visit to Abhishek’s grandmother Teji Bachchan and frequent visits to the Bachchan home. Recently she and her family spent their Diwali with the Bachchans.

According to the report, Aishwarya (born in Dhanu Rashi) and Abhishek (born in Kumbha Rashi) marriage was likely to face roadblocks in 2006 problems but, from October 27, when the planetary positions change, both Ash and Abhi will have the support of Jupiter (Guru-bruhaspathi).

A horoscope match was confirmed in Nov 2005 when Amitabh’s brother, Ajitabh, visited a priest in Bangalore in the company of Abhishek, at the behest of Teji Bachchan.

It is reported that the ailing Teji Bachchan is very keen to see her grandson wed.

However it still remains to be seen how much truth lies behind all these rumours. Aishwarya has always been tightlipped about the relationship while Abhishek has managed to evade the topic whenever he has confronted the issue.

Is it another publicity gimmick ahead of the release of Aishwarya and Abhishek starrer movies - Dhoom 2 & Umrao Jaan? God knows. I think i will be happy to see Aishwarya tie a knot with Abhishek. Atleast that may put an end to Ashu and Vivek Oberoi’s friendship.

Kangana Ranaut Has Nothing To Gain If Linked To Upen Patel

There may be millions of girl swooning over the hottest Bollywood hunk Upen Patel but the beautiful face Kangana Ranaut is definitely not one of them.

The two are working together in Suneel Darshan’s ‘Shaka Laka Boom Boom’ in South Africa at the moment and believe us there is nothing brewing between them. At least that’s what baby doll Kangana tried to convince us.

“All the reports doing rounds back home are completely baseless. I think I’ve better things to do than get impressed by Upen because I’ve nothing to gain from being linked with him.

“Upen is certainly not my type. I can’t even connect with him over a simple onversation. As they’re always one-sided, where he does all the talking. When Upen talks there’s little left for anyone else to say ,” she reveals.

Upen is eually amazed by the gossipmongers too. He says that he is fond of Kangana but only as a friend.

Ranaut who started her career as a Bhatt camps’ muse has now migrated for the greener pastures though she is under a contract with them. Thanks to Bhatts again she was allowed to do UTV’s ‘Metro’ and Suneel Darshan’s film.

As for Vishesh Films’ Awarapan, a new girl Shreya has been roped in but like unlike Mallika Sherawat episode, this time there is no bad blood.

“Kangna is a sweet girl. We are still in touch and would love to work together again,” told Mukesh Bhatt while wishing her luck.

Whatever be the stories guys, i don’t know if Kangna is trying to just convince us or making stories, i just know that i like her very much. She is sweet and kinda cute. I loved her performance in Wo Lamhe for sure. All the best Kangna. We love you!!!

Aishwarya Says That People Think She Is Dating Abhishek Bachchan

Aishwarya!!! You still believe that we are thinking that you are dating Abhishek Bachchan. Hey, we actually believed that you were dating him. Don’t give us so many shocks yaar!!!

Alright let’s talk about Umrao Jaan and Dhoom 2 and then wonder about Abhishek!!

As all Aishwarya fans wait eagerly for ‘Umrao Jaan’, Ash herself remains calm and serene. One reason, perhaps, is that her performance in this JP Dutta film has already been lauded by those who’ve got a chance to see it.

“It was an absolute honour to play Umrao,: she confesses and adds, “I saw the earlier ‘Umrao Jaan’ when I was very young, on television. I had never imagined I’d be playing that role. God has been kind to me.”

Regarding the original version of Umrao Jaan performed by the veteran actress Rekha, Aishwarya Rai said that, ‘Whenever there are remakes being made, I am not given to the temptation of watching the original as there could be some visual impression that could influence my performance.’

She doesn’t even want to think about it as a comparison with Rekha.

“Rekhaji and I share a different kind of bond. She has had the chance to play a mujrewali in other films too. But for me, in the current scenario when such films are not being made, to play a role like this is something else,” tells Ash.

Acknowledging that she plays a totally different role in Dhoom 2 Rai says, “I have so far largely played Indian characters…this appearance, in the western mould is definitely new.”

To play Sunehri in Dhoom 2, Ash had to get back into shape to play a glamorous seductress in the western mould. Throughout the film she is attired in skimpy western clothes that reveal her now stunning figure.

While excited about playing an altogether different role she also appears circumspect that she may get to be tagged with the dubious title of India’s sex symbol at this stage in her career. Quite apparantly she does not want her fans to read too much from her attire.

But what about her association with Abhishek Bachchan?

“It’s because you are seeing us together on screen more often that people think there is something more. Hrithik and Abhishek are the two actors with whom I’m paired in all my forthcoming releases,” gushes Aishwarya.

Aishwarya Rai is back in India after a brief stint in Hollywood and she has some big banner Bollywood movies lined up.

Except for Last Legion and Provoked, Aishwarya has no Hollywood film lined up for release this year.

The only English script that she is ready to talk about is a Will Smith movie. And she is not talking about her other Hollywood ventures either like French remake Chaos with Meryl Streep and Singularity directed by Roland Joff.

However, both films are yet to take off the ground.

“There are quite a few scripts from abroad but I hope to be able to work with Will Smith. The script was great and it will be fun to work with him,” Aishwarya said.

But there are quite a few Bollywood flicks lined up for Aishwarya including, Guru by Mani Ratnam, Jodha-Akbar by Ashutosh Gowatrikar and Sarkar 2 by Ram Gopal Varma.

Her forthcoming releases include, Umrao Jaan and Dhoom 2.

As for future Hollywood projects, Aishwarya said that like many other things in life, she would leave it for the time and the dates to decide.

“I really want time to decide. I don’t know what will come my way. I will go through the scripts, will look at the dates and only then will sign newer movies,” she said.

“I believe in the power of saying ‘no’. When I am not convinced about something. I simply say no,” she added.

Talking about Umrao Jaan, Aishwarya said she avoided watching the original film when the movie was being made.

“Whenever there are remakes being made, I am not given to the temptation of watching the original as there could be some visual impression that could influence my performance. I like to keep away from emulation or repetition,” she explained.

About her brand new look in Dhoom 2 Aishwarya said that she had never before essayed the role of a character like Sunheri.

“I think I have done lot of Indian characters, but playing a westernised character in Dhoom 2 was different,” Aishwarya said, who also did her own stunts in the movie.

Upen Patel Is Rocking The Endorsement Charts

Bollywood’s new hearttrob Upen Patel. God looking. Has been with brand names like  Tuscan Verve and Tommy Hilfiger and now with Provogue, and D’damas. Alright if he has a quite start to his filmy career with 36 China Town (or was it China Town 36, I don’t remember seeing it. ) But he has bright future with ramp and endorsements, atleast.
Upen Patel is high on the endorsement charts these days. After being roped in by Provogue as its youth icon, the actor will now be the brand ambassador of D’damas Desire.

“It’s really the best I could have asked for at such a short time. The supermodel to actor transition has been quite a journey. But since I have got huge releases coming up and have signed good films, I have quit the ramp completely,” said Upen.

“My first film (’36 China Town’) has been such a great debut for me. I will work harder and grow as an actor with each film and let my performance speak for itself.”

He has earlier been associated with brands like Tuscan Verve and Tommy Hilfiger.

No Kidding!! Payal Rohatgi Is Going To Be Fully Dressed

That may seem to be a shoch for many. Payal Rohatgi has been signed by Subash Ghai and is to wear full length Indian costumes in the movie. Lol. Alright, enough Jokes. We all know Pyal is great artist and of bold nature. We all love Payal, don’t we. All the best Payal. The news story goes like this:

Payal Rohatgi’s Indianness appealed to Subhash Ghai! So much so that he cast her in a simple Indian role in Apna Sapna Money Money.

“It is a very cute role of Sunil Shetty’s wife. It is a special appearance, but I loved every minute of it,” enthuses Payal.

It was a chance meeting with Sangeet Sivan on the sets that landed Payal the role.

“He liked my simplicity in Indian outfits, and asked me if I would play the character. And I did,” enthuses Payal,adding, “I am very happy with my role in opposite Sunil Shetty and the very Indian feel.

Only Mr Ghai and my director Sangeet Sivan could have picturised me in the traditional Indian costumes.”

The ‘Gandhigiri’ fever that caught the nation did not leave Prime Minister Manmohan Singh untouched when he took time off his busy schedule today to enjoy the Sanjay Dutt-starrer ‘Lage Raho Munna Bhai’.

“It captures Bapu’s message about the power of truth and humanism,” Singh remarked after watching a special screening of the movie at the Panchavati Hall in his Race Course Road residence.

Some members of the Prime Minister’s family and the PMO staff also got an opportunity to watch the about three-hour movie which has suddenly brought into limelight Mahatma Gandhi’s principles of non-violence and ’satyagraha’.

Singh, who was scheduled to watch the film two weeks ago, had praised the movie during his recent visit to South Africa.

Hritikh Roshan Worth 35 Crore Per Movie?

It’s the high paying day for the Bollywood Stars. Seems like their Diwali went very well and prosperous for them.

It isn’t official as yet, but Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan has gone beyond any actor’s pricing after signing a deal with Adlabs at a reported price of a whopping Rs.350 million (Rs 35 crores).

Manmohan Shetty’s company Adlabs Film Ltd. has apparently signed the “Krrish” star for a three-film deal. While Hrithik’s dad Rakesh Roshan says “negotiations are on”, other reliable sources say the deal has been signed, sealed and delivered.

Hrithik’s price? A staggering Rs.350 million. This makes him the highest-paid star in Bollywood, outpricing every other actor, including Aamir Khan, who was reportedly paid Rs.70 million for “Rang De Basanti”.

Hrithik’s reported price would change the entire pricing system in Bollywood, spiralling star fees beyond control.

A top filmmaker, who chooses to be anonymous until Hrithik’s price is made official, is aghast.

He said: “If true, this is a very unhealthy development. Hrithik is no doubt a fabulous hard-working actor. But star prices have constantly been the bane of Bollywood. Often more than 65 percent of the budget for a film goes to the stars.

“Why, even a newcomer like Shiney Ahuja charges Rs.1 crore (Rs.10 million). The ladies get far less. But a two-film old Kangana Ranaut asks for and gets approximately Rs.30 lakh (Rs.3 million). Now god knows how medium-budget filmmakers will manage the monies.”

There’s no doubt the three-film deal that Hrithik has clinched with Adlabs will dramatically revise the pricing system in Bollywood.
