Sonam Kapoor Being Careful For Roles

Sonam Kapoor

Sonam Kapoor

Seems Bollywood newcomer Sonam Kapoor is following Katrina Kaif’s footstep who is being really choosy in selecting her roles for films. Recently, Sonam Kapoor rejected a film opposite Ranbir Kapoor that also starred Deepika Padukone in the crucial role. My only question is why???? Do what you get is what i would suggest Sonam. Anyways…

Earlier Katrina had also refused to act in film maker Anurag Basu’s upcoming film Khamoshi that featured Ranbir and Priyanka in the lead role. The film offered to Sonam will feature Ranbir in a double role where one of them will be set in the 1950s background and the other would be today youngster. The film directed by Vikramjit Singh is titled Mera Jahan that talks about a comic book writer played by Ranbir who is vanished in his own world of perceptions.

Anyways, following footsteps in one thing but to get a career like that of Katrina, one has to be beautiful enough like her, only then so much success would come. Katrina has really improved her hindi, she is a hard worker, plus she does not constantly nag about her beauty or go around acting kiddish by calling super star of bollywood as her aunty. Get the point….Sonam?

Beat The Heat Amrita Rao’s Style

Amrita Rao

Amrita Rao

Bollywood hottie Amrita Rao as she shares her cool summer mantras to beat the heat.

The best way to beat the sweltering Mumbai heat is to take off to some place cooler. Shooting in this heat is anyway near impossible as the heat tends to not only melt away your make-up, but interests, too. But if I’m not shooting and do not have the option of taking off to Manali, that is the one place I love most in India, I love to spend my time indoors, just chilling out with cool drinks.

The heat is a natural appetite killer, so in a way it’s a good time for people who wish to diet or lose weight. So, skip the heavy lunches and opt for loads of fruit and vegetable salads instead.

I prefer home-made food like curd-rice, and a lot of salads with cucumber. That apart, chaas is an absolute must. Through the day, you’ll see me sipping cool drinks like coconut water, fresh-lime water and loads of juices specially water-melon.

Going out in the day is something I avoid, I do like to step out in the evenings though. A stroll on the beach is what I ache to do, but it’s near impossible with the crowds around. So, instead I go for a long drive with friends or catch up a movie or go shopping. I love binging on mangoes, too, but I would advise anyone who loves mangoes as much as I do, to remember and drink a glass of cold milk after it.

Summer fruits like lychees and cherries are my favourites and I eat as much as I want to, without having to worry about piling on the pounds. All in all, I still celebrate summer, as I would as a child. So, nothing’s cooler than catching up with friends, watching movies and chilling out literally!

Deepika Padukone In A Sari At Cannes

Deepika Padukone

Deepika Padukone

Cannes has been getting ample doses of Bollywood glamour courtesy Aishwarya Rai and Mallika Sherawat. But it was Deepika Padukone who flew the flag for India high today on the French Riviera, looking glamorous in a sari.

While both Aishwarya and Mallika opted for Western couture, the 24-year-old took the six yard route to style as she stepped out on the red carpet in a Rohit Bal sari. She teamed the cream and gold confection with Kundan jewelery, a stone studded clutch and added a quirky touch with a chunky watch.

The former model’s traditional attire was complimented by a sparkly bindi and a neat bun, which left the ‘RK’ tattoo on her neck visible.

Deepika who is at the prestigious film festival as the brand ambassador of Chivas Regal, attended Mathieu Amalric’s French movie, Tournee along with Bal.

“When one is representing India in a very visible platform like the Cannes, gowns and elaborate western dresses do not really represent India. One should not only feel Indian, but also look Indian,” the designer said. The criticism seems to be leveled at Aishwarya, who always opts for Western designers for her stint at the film festival. The 36-year-old wore a violet tulle and mousseline gown from Elie Saab for the festival opening, but her ensemble did not win her any brownie points as her pompadour updo was criticised as “matronly”. For her second outing on the red carpet with fellow L’Oreal spokesmodel Eva Longoria, Aishwarya opted for a black Armani Prive strapless number, which hugged her curves.

Meanwhile Mallika who likes to shock with her fashion choices, has kept a low profile this year. She had opted for a simple white dress for the opening and wore a red gown for an after-party. She had grabbed headlines with her first appearance at Cannes, when she opted for a plunging golden blouse paired with a slashed skirt as she posed with Jackie Chan for the photocall of their film The Myth. Her fashion choices again caused a stir when she turned up at the premiere of Inglorious Basterds in Los Angeles wearing a sheer black gown with her underwear visible.

Actress Nandita Das who was a part of the Cannes jury in 2003 had won praise for wearing Indian ensembles at the festival including a silk sari, which she said had been a part of her wardrobe for years. The sari has moved on from being a daily Indian staple to an international style statement.

Sugababes, the popular girl band sported sarees and bindis in their latest avatar as Indian brides. The musical trio of Amelle Barabah, Heidi Range and Jade Ewen got an Indian make-over for the cover of Asian Woman magazine, reported Sun online.

Earlier the American group Pussycat Dolls had walked the red carpet wearing saris to announce their single Jai Ho. Liz Hurley, Victoria Beckham and Ashley Judd are some other Hollywood beauties who have worn the Indian ensemble.

Mallika Sherawat Charms Everyone At Cannes

Mallika Sherawat

Mallika Sherawat

Mallika Sherawat charmed everyone with her snake act and what not at the Cannes 2010 Festival. Seriously!!!! Mallika Sherawat and her snake was the talking point at the ongoing Cannes film festival. Check out her twit pic with a snake around her neck.

She tweeted, “And now for a very special and private photo shoot in Cannes with my date, Rudy the Sssnake :)” She was also working double time with the producers of Hisss announcing their release dates and even signed autographs with a snake around her neck.

She then posed in a lavender avatar on the red carpet for a Variety magazine do. Later she was seen putting a nude dress act for the red carpet.

She followed up with a black zippy version as she headed to “meet Microsoft founder Paul Allen on his yacht :). Whew!

Apparently, her flesh-tone dress got her on the best dressed women list! The only Indian amongst the thirteen on day one at Cannes, which i guess is somewhat admirable feat however no idea why it was given to her.!

She tweeted, “omg tweeps! In front of everyone super-designer Valentino said I’m one of most beautiful and glamorous women he’s ever seen! I can die now, jk!”

What’s more, no one can tweet-drop names like Mallika. Sample this: “with maestro Shekhar Kapur at the Majestic salon. He’s on the Cannes jury this year. Dont mess with him! lol.” “me and Salma Hayek. Her and her hubby are so sweet :). And she’s even more beautiful in person!”

Vidya Balan’s Sunglasses Obsession

Vidya Balan

Vidya Balan

We thought Vidya Balan’s favourite accessories were her signature style jhumkas, the chunky beaded neck pieces, and even the rudraksha she so stylishly flaunts.

But wait… there is a dark side to this Southern beauty, too. Yeah, her favourite accessory is sunglasses – of all shapes, sizes and super-stylish brands. The lady can resist shopping clothes, shoes, bags and even her cool kurtas and designer saris, but the minute she spots dark glasses, she turns into a “shades shopaholic”.

Recently, while shooting in Delhi she surprised her staff with the way she went on a shade shopping spree. It was rather a shock than surprise seeing someone going mad over shades. However i am yet to see Vidya Balan in shades in some movie. Can’t remember her wearing shades in any. If you know one then do tell me.

Anyways, i think our lovely Vidya Balan is forgetting something. We all aren’t as excited as Vidya for her wide-range of sexy shades. Probably the simplest reason is that we won’t be able to get a closer look at those lovely, deep, brown eyes? What do you all think? Aren’t her eyes so very beautiful? :)

Barbara Morri & Hrithik Roshan

Hrithik Roshan and Barbara Mori are off to a flying start this May. As the date of release nears up, there are more and more skeletons falling from the cupboard.

Recent hot buzz doing the rounds is that the International version of the flick has far too bold images for it to be shown in the Indian arenas.

Barbara had recently said something like it was high time that Indian films allowed some kissing scenes in their films. Now, with that point of view, many had agreed that indeed times had changed.

Now, with the promos of the International version released, it has Hrithik in an intimate pose with Barbara who is topless.

The hotshot promo is truly in International flavor, and is a rage already. The story line, of ‘Kites’ has been handled delicately and some exclusive locales abroad have added charm to the extremely hot scenes. The hot duo has managed to stir the senses even before the release, lets see what pitch the fever goes up to after the release!

Priyanka Chopra Working Hard To Get In Shape

Priyanka Chopra

Priyanka Chopra

Priyanka Chopra’s fitness regime has gone for a toss just before she begins shooting for Khatron Ke Khiladi that was previously hosted by the daredevil Akshay Kumar.

The actor has shown that she likes to be a perfectionist in her work and thus has pressed the panic button because she doesn’t want to be underprepared when she does the deadly stunts that the reality show on Colors is known to belt out. By being not up to the mark on fitness would mean that Priyanka might also be running the risk of getting injured while doing the strenuous stunts as her body has not been adequately built to take the pressure and stress.

“Due to the hectic travel schedule that Priyanka has been having for the past four months having travelled to US for her movie Anjaana Anjaani, then Malaysia and now Coorg for the shooting of Saat Khoon Maaf; she hasn’t really got enough time to work on her fitness. She was in Mumbai too for three days but there was so much happening and she needed to do so much that she had no time to hit the gym. She needs to build her body and stamina to cope up with the back-breaking stunts that the show will have this time around. The stunts are getting harder and tougher every year. With her body not being in the level that can easily cope up with these action sequences, she runs a great risk,” says an insider very close to the developments.

“Priyanka understands this and has thus given a deep thought on how to work on her fitness even when she is travelling. She immediately reached a solution to her problem as she has now flown her trainer Nadir from Mumbai to her outdoor shoot in Coorg where she will be camped for nearly two months.

Priyanka now religiously makes it a point to work out on her fitness for a minimum one hour right after her shooting ends for the day. She is now shaping up very well to take on the show. Priyanka has done action before like in Don and Drona and thus her body is quite trained to handle action. She now just has to take her body back to that level,” reveals an eyewitness from Coorg.

Kareena Kapoor’s Movie Wishlist

Kareena Kapoor

Kareena Kapoor

After starring in J.P. Dutta’s 2000 drama “Refugee” with Abhishek Bachchan, Kareena Kapoor longs to work with the popular actor again.

Off-screen, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek might be considered one of Bollywood’s cutest couple. But when it comes to on-screen chemistry, Kareena thinks she and Abhi make the perfect pair! The B-town beauty recently said that she would love to make another movie with.

The “Dostana” star, and we have to admit it has been a while! “If a producer was to cast Abhishek and me together. I would definitely be happy,” Kareena recently told reporters according to The Times of India. It’s a shame that Abhi has been busy shooting “Raavan” with his wife, Ash and hasn’t thought of hooking up with the “Kurbaan” star on the silver screen again. But that doesn’t mean that the two Bollywood big shots won’t work on a movie together.

In the near future so fans can keep hoping! “Refugee” tells the story of Manzur Ahmed, a man who lives in Bihar, India but who decides to move to East Pakistan in 1948. When his family reaches Bhuj near the Pakistani border they are helped by a cold hearted man known as Refugee, played by Abhi. He helps them get to Pakistan. Refugee is also involved in refugee trafficking, but when he falls in love with Nazneen, played by Bebo, he changes attitude. Unfortunately, Nazneen has been promised to a Pakistani man.

The heart-breaking story seems to have Kareena longing for more on-screen time with Abhishek. Maybe she is tired of working with her own boyfriend, Saif Ali Khan? The two co-starred in “Kurbaan,” a movie that tells the story of an undercover terrorist, played by Saif and his wife, played by Kareena. Saif Ali Khan’s character becomes a suave gentleman to hide his cover as a terrorist. We sure hope for another Abhi and Bebo

Aishwarya Rai Inspired Vikram

Aishwarya Rai

Aishwarya Rai

South superstar Vikram was more than apprehensive playing the role of Aishwarya Rai’s husband in the Hindi version of Mani Ratnam’s Raavan. Firstly, he wasn’t very comfortable with the language. Secondly, he was already playing the eponymous villain in the Tamil version of the same film. Playing the opposite role in the Hindi version was certainly a challenge.

But he was inspired by Aishwarya Rai who acts in both the Hindi and Tamil version. “Initially, I was very scared because I had this mental block (about Hindi). What kept me going was that Ash didn’t know Tamil and she was doing so well,” Vikram said in an interview.

On top of it, everyone in the crew made Vikram comfortable. “Had I been only doing the Hindi version, I would have been really worried. But it is also in Tamil and everyone made me feel quite comfortable,” the 44-year-old actor added.

With Raavan, Vikram has become the first Indian actor, perhaps the first in the world, to play two opposing roles in the same film in two languages. Abhishek Bachchan was also given a similar offer, but he back out of the Tamil version because he wasn’t comfortable with the language.
